This tour attracts the experienced traveller who wishes to delve deeper into the diversity of France and its way of life with special emphasis on the delights of French cuisine, fine wines and Champagne. After leaving Paris you will travel through the Champagne and Burgundy regions, stopping at the famous wine village of Chablis and sample the local nectar before spending two nights in Dijon. From the wine country to the mountains and a superb drive high into the Alps and climb towards Mont Blanc and the ski resort of Chamonix. Take a breathtaking drive to the lake-side town of Annecy and enjoy the area before driving to the spa town of Aix-les-Bains. Travel from the Alps to the Riviera following in the footsteps of Napoleon. See the Grimaldi Palace in Monaco and then travel through Provence to Avignon and then on to Chatauneuf-du-Pape to sample the famous wine. In Nimes you will see the Roman Arena and the 2000 year old Roman Temple. Then on to Albi the birthplace of Toulouse Lautrec, you will be fascinated with the tiny medieval town of Rocamadour perched on a cliff side above the Alzou River. The next two nights are spend in the lovely Dordogne Valley and from there to Limoges to visit a porcelain showroom before heading to Poitiers to board a TGV train for your fast and comfortable journey to Paris. An indepth sightseeing tour of Paris and a farewell dinner to top it off, a wonderful end to a magical tour of France.
