This classic tour provides the perfect introduction to Europe and provides a different way to get from Rome to London. When you arrive, you have the first two nights in Rome. While on your in depth sightseeing tour, you will visit the independent Vatican State, the richest community in the world. You will visit the superb Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel, a glorious masterpiece of Michelangelo’s fresco skills. Then to St Peter’s Basilica, where you will see the beautiful ‘Pieta’ also by Michelango. From Rome you will travel to the wonderful region of Tuscany for your overnight stay in the magical city of Florence. View Florence from the Piazzale Michelangelo before walking to the magnificent Cathedral, the ‘Gates of Paradise’. Take time to shop for leather and gold products in this wonderful city. On to Venice where you can catch a gondola ride to St Mark’s Square and see the Doges’ Palace. See the traditional glass blowing and buy a small sample to remind you of this beautiful city. Travel past the Italian Lakes and the Swiss countryside, until you arrive at the enchanting city of Lucerne. Enjoy an exciting highlight – an exhilarating ride by cog-wheel train and cable-car to the summit of Mount Pilatus. Admire the stunning panorama of snow-capped peaks, including the Eiger and Jungfrau. Travel through the wine producing area of Burgundy to Paris for two fabulous nights. Be sure to see Paris by night and in particular the Eiffel Tower, a truly marvellous spectacle. The tour ends in Paris where hopefully the rest of your trip begins.
