After you arrive in Wellington you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of this lovely city, including Mount Victoria and Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand. Te Papa is amazing and well worth the experience, there is time to see the magnificent contemporary Marae (meeting house) and explore interactive displays depicting modern New Zealand and pre European history. The next day you travel to Taupo and see the thundering Huka Falls before continuing to Rotorua. With two nights in Rotorua there is time to relax and enjoy this amazing geothermal area. There is a special evening featuring the Realm of Tane and be introduced to the Maori culture, followed by a concert and Hangi feast. The next day, a cruise on Lake Rotorua with a little dash of bubbly, before heading to the Agrodome Sheep Show and a visit to Te Puia where a local Maori guide will show you the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve. On the way to Auckland you will see the Waitomo Caves and the Glow Worm Grotto. This evening is yours to enjoy Auckland. From Auckland you will travel through Orewa and the scenic Hibiscus Coast, on to Whangarei and then it is off to Paihia and the beautiful Bay of Islands. You have a two night stay here so there is plenty of time to enjoy this beautiful area. Enjoy a scenic cruise to Cape Brett and the famous 'Hole in the Rock', explore Urupukapuka Island on the way back. The next day is yours to explore the area, perhaps go on a dolphin watch, sail or sea kayak around these waters. On your last day you will visit the Waitangi Treaty Reserve and see the magnificent Maori War Canoe and the traditional meeting house before travelling back to Auckland for your final night. This tour is a great introduction to the North Island and you will see some of the major attractions, but there is still a lot more to come back for!
