Nicknamed the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, Las Vegas is located is the south-eastern corner of the State of Nevada and is surrounded by expansive desert landscapes. The frenetic activity of Las Vegas all began in 1905 in the region of Fremont Street which continues to offer legendary casinos, free entertainment and old-fashioned gambling hospitality. Still glitzy and full of razzmatazz, Fremont Street boasts the Fremont Street Experience, a 450 metre long canopy which at night comes to life with a tremendous Light and Sound Show. Today Las Vegas is home to approximately 1.8 million residents and draws visitors and people from around the world which has led the city to become the fastest growing urban area in the U.S.A. during the 20th century.
Bright lights, big city, that’s Las Vegas! Known as the ‘Strip’, the almost 7 kilometres long stretch of the Las Vegas Boulevard is one of the city’s major highlights. Crammed with many of the world’s largest hotel complexes and landmark structures, the strip is brilliantly lit with countless lights and colourful displays which creates an unforgettable experience. Look out for the half-scaled replica of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas, watch the amazing Fountains of Bellagio where water from over 1,200 jets dances to music, experience the Volcano at the Mirage and see the sultry sirens at the Treasure Island Hotel. Inside the hotels the fun continues with shows, exhibitions, art galleries and displays providing non-stop entertainment. However if this is not enough why not try indoor sky-diving or make a trip to the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus where everyone can enjoy the Sling Shot and the Canyon Blaster or visit the world’s largest permanent indoor circus! For the ladies amongst us it is also possible to catch one of the daily fashion shows at the ‘Fashion Show Shopping Centre’, one of the largest shopping centres in the nation.
