Malolo Lailai, or Little Malolo, is the most southerly of the 23 islands that make up the Mamanuca Group of Islands. Located in the lee of Viti Levu, Fijis’ main island, the island group boasts some of the driest and sunniest weather in all of Fiji, and with a great variety of islands to visit and reefs to see, the area is a popular tourist destination.
Surrounded by calm tropical seas, Malolo Lailai is the second largest island, next to Malolo, and covers approximately 240 hectares. Formed by volcanic activity the islands’ interior consists of grass covered gentle hills, with occasional patches of acacia trees, 10 kilometres of sandy beaches backed by a fringe of tropical vegetation, and a giant shallow, sandy bottomed, sheltered lagoon. The island has its’ own marina which attracts yachties from around the world looking for paradise!!
Easy access is provided by high speed catamaran from Denarau Marina, which takes approximately 40 minutes.
