Daydream Island is a small island, one kilometre long and five hundred metres wide. It is part of the Whitsunday group of islands, five kilometres off the coast of Queensland, between the coast and the Great Barrier Reef. The island comprises a small centrally located volcanic formed hill and low lying areas on which the resort is built, with pool and beach at one end, and staff quarters and day trippers services at the other end. The central part of the island is vegetated with tropical bushland. There are three beaches on the island, all with course grade, hard formed coral sands, and gentle waters leading into warm coral lagoons. The island has spectacular views in every direction, as it is in close proximity to mainland coast and other islands. Daydream is serviced by Blue Ferries for travel to Schute Harbour, only 15 minutes away, or Hamilton Island, 35 minutes away. Due to its closeness to Schute Harbour it is a very popular daytrip destination.
