Davui Island is located in the stunning Beqa Lagoon which surrounds the large and hilly Beqa Island. Davui Island lies to the south-west of Beqa Island which is an outlier of Viti Levu and forms part of the Viti Levu Group of islands. Davui Island stands approximately 15 kilometres off the south-central coastline of Viti Levu and is a typical south-sea island paradise with its pristine sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and lush tropical vegetation.
Created by volcanic activity over 150 million years ago Davui Island has been built up over time around a central rocky core, and has been enlarged and fortified by massive coral deposits which extend into the sea and surround the island. The island covers an area of only 4 hectares and accommodates no more than 32 guests at any one time within 16 luxurious vales (a Fijian house) each with its own pool. Located around the island, which rises to its centre, each villa enjoys expansive water views and easy access to the sun drenched beaches. Priding itself on exclusivity and privacy the Royal Davui Island Resort is an adults only sanctuary, and provides visitors with several outdoor water activities including snorkelling, kayaking and sailing. Twenty five of Fiji’s best diving and snorkelling sites are easily accessible from the island as Beqa Lagoon is renowned for its beautiful wall, soft coral, cave and shipwreck diving locations.
Davui Island can be reached from Nadi International Airport by seaplane or helicopter which takes approximately 45 minutes. In typical Fijian fashion the weather is generally warm through the winter months and hot and humid during the summer. The summer months, December to March, are also referred to as the wet season although the western areas of Fiji are generally drier than the eastern parts.
