Natadola Bay boasts a slightly curving, almost two kilometres long, protected beach of white sand, bounded by coconut palms to the north-east and framed by two low headlands. To the south, the small, rocky, offshore Navo Island lies separated from the headland by a narrow channel of crystal clear water, and forms part of an extended reef formation which offers opportunities for snorkelling. The beach is backed by a wide sand-bar which retains a small salt water lagoon, while the sand-bar itself supports a traditional-styled low budget resort and local tourist activities such as horse riding. Overlooking the bay to the south, a large international resort provides patrons with direct access to the beach. Considered by some to be one of Fiji’s best beaches, the reasonably private Natadola Beach, offers beautiful sands, azure blue waters and easy access for snorkelling, diving and a comprehensive range of water activities in what is considered safe waters. The bay opens directly to the Pacific Ocean as the surrounding Fijian reef retains a natural water break. Located on the west coast of Viti Levu, Fiji’s largest island, Natadola Bay lies approximately 40 kilometres along the Queen’s Road, south of Nadi International Airport. Just over a kilometre south of Natadola Bay, a small Fijian community nestles in the protection of Navo Island.
