Blarney Golf Resort is the brainchild of local Cork businessman, John Kelly and Dublin based Frank McCarthy. Three years ago when the opportunity arose to purchase over 164 acres in the beautiful Shournagh Valley, they seized it immediately.
To help them realise that vision, they enlisted the services of one of golf's most colourful and best loved characters, two time major winner, John Daly.
It is the first golf design project with which John Daly has been involved in Europe. Previously he co-designed Wicked Stick in South Carolina. The Golf course is 6712 yard par 71 course.
Blarney Golf Resort takes its crest from the McCarthy clan, who completed the construction of the local Blarney Castle when Dermot McCarthy was King of Munster in 1446. The McCarthys occupied the Castle for over 250 years.
